Once a year local clubs of the Swedish Society of Amateur Gardeners invite all members to a garden festival – Riksmöte. We meet and experience beautiful private gardens, food and drink and a large plant market, where you can find plants that aren’t readily available at your local garden center.

In 2024 – June 14-16 – we’ll be in Göteborg. On Friday June 14 there will be open gardens that you can access from noon to 17.00 hs. If you arrive early you can visit more than one of these gardens.

On Friday evening we’re inviting you to a get-together in the Gothenburg Botanical Garden. Light snacks and bubbly non-alcoholic drinks will be served and you can join one of the tours of the Botanical Garden.

On Saturday June 15 we’ll go by bus to a variety of private gardens with interesting plants and garden features. The buses depart from Åby Arena in Mölndal at 08.30 and are back at 16.30. In the evening there will be a dinner at Åby Arena. The room will be bustling with tales of the day and inspiration from all the different gardens. We will also have a lottery with all the plants and other stuff that have been donated by members, plant sellers and garden centers.

Sunday morning you have a choice of listening to inspirational talks and joining guided tours. A bus leaves from Åby Arena to the parks in Jonsered and Lerum. In Trädgårdsföreningen at the city center, we have three different lecturers and one guide. Two of the lectures will be in English and the rest will be in Swedish.

On Sunday afternoon the large plant market in the Botanical garden will be held as the grande finale of the Riksmöte festival. Plants will change owners and smiles will be spreading on all faces.
